Can meditation help stress?
The ancient practice of meditation is being used more frequently by a number of people who are looking for different techniques to reduce their personal stress levels. So what exactly happens when you meditate?
Generally speaking, meditation is a mental practice where you may focus your attention on something (usually pleasant) while chanting inwardly or outwardly or simply concentrating on breathing patterns. Buddhist monks believe that you can become happier and that your concentration levels improve.
We believe that any form of programme that promotes calmness is beneficial for the body and performed on a regular basis produces noticeable results. Breathing techniques are particularly good for helping to reduce stress levels quickly and also for prevention. We have a number of free fact sheets that may help so please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
A story from a top chef
3 star Michelin chef Heston Blumenthal recently demonstrated on TV how to reduce stress in freshly caught langoustines. Put them on ice.
We wouldn't recommend that as a stress reliever but we do suggest that you speak to us regarding how to reduce your stress levels by attending one of our workshops. And don't worry, no ice is used during the duration of the session!
